TYPES OF FLOORING

Aeterno technologies are designed to meet different needs. SPC flooring is made with a mineral core that ensures high stability and excellent water resistance, making it particularly suitable even for areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. W-SPC represents an evolution of traditional SPC flooring and combines the performance of a technical core with the beauty of a natural wood surface. BPC, used in the Pure range, is composed of bamboo fibres and polymeric components and is completely PVC-free, providing a balance between technical performance, living comfort and sustainability. Laminate flooring, instead, uses a high-density wood fibre core and offers a versatile and practical solution for many domestic settings.
Pure is Aeterno’s BPC flooring, designed for those who want all the benefits of a modern resilient floor, but with a greater focus on living comfort and the natural qualities of the materials. Pure is the only solution on the market to combine a PVC-free structure made of bamboo fibres with an integrated cork mattress and represents an evolution of the traditional SPC flooring concept. The surface is pleasant underfoot, contributes to the acoustic comfort of the spaces and offers a more natural feel than many other technical solutions. Even from an aesthetic point of view, Pure stands out for its high-definition digital printing and for the wide range of different patterns (up to 44 per design), which minimise the repetition effect and create an extremely realistic and natural-looking floor. The large-format planks further enhance the wood effect, contributing to create elegant and contemporary spaces.
Nature is created to combine the benefits of a resilient floor with the authentic beauty of natural wood. It is not a traditional parquet floor, but an advanced solution combining a stable and durable SPC core with a real wood surface. Compared to a traditional SPC floor, Nature offers the charm, warmth and unique nuances of natural wood, whilst retaining the practicality of a modern floating floor. Compared to many traditional parquet floors, it offers greater dimensional stability and an easier daily maintenance. It is the ideal choice for those who want to enjoy the authenticity of wood without compromising on the benefits of a contemporary engineered floor.
The choice depends mainly on the environment and personal expectations.
The SPC flooring in the Rock Pro range is the most versatile option in the Aeterno range and is ideal for those seeking practicality, high dimensional stability, water resistance and easy daily maintenance. The Pro, Lite and Spina lines share the same designs, allowing for the combination of traditional installation with herringbone installation, whilst maintaining perfect aesthetic continuity. They are particularly popular for refurbishments and in high-traffic areas.
Pure is designed for those who seek a more natural solution, thanks to the presence of bamboo fibres. It features large-format planks, with extremely realistic aesthetic appearance, a wide range of different patterns (up to 44 per design) and an integrated natural cork mattress that enhances both living comfort and acoustic insulation.
Nature combines the performance of an engineered floor to the charm of a real wood surface.
The Urban and Fix laminates, on the other hand, offer a practical, quick and versatile solution.
At first glance, many SPC floors may appear similar, but considerable differences become apparent in the quality of the interlocking system, dimensional stability, the actual thickness of the joint between the planks, the quality of the wear layer and the number of patterns used for the designs.
The Aeterno floors use advanced and patented interlocking systems (5G, 5Gi, 2G depending on the collection), designed to ensure simple, precise installation and greater reliability over time. This results in improved floor stability, greater durability and a superior aesthetic appearance.
Resilient floors offer numerous practical advantages compared to many traditional solutions. They are generally easier to install, require less maintenance, offer greater dimensional stability and are particularly suitable for areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. Moreover, they can often be installed directly onto existing floors, reducing both the time and cost of refurbishment.

DURABILITY AND USE

Yes. All Aeterno floorings are designed to withstand everyday wear and tear and are also well-suited to households with dogs and cats. The surfaces are easy to clean and resistant to scratches caused by normal domestic use. The Rock range offers maximum durability, whilst the Pure and Nature ranges provide greater underfoot comfort.
SPC flooring from the Rock range is the most suitable solution for damp areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, thanks to its high-water resistance, dimensional stability and natural waterproofness. The Pure range can also be used in these areas, but it is best suited to residential spaces where comfort, well-being and the natural qualities of the materials play a central role. In all damp areas it is essential to avoid prolonged water stagnation and to seal the perimeter correctly during installation.
Yes. Many Aeterno collections are used not only in private households but also in hotels, offices, shops and high-traffic areas. The choice of the most suitable solution depends on the characteristics of the environment and the expected level of foot traffic. The SPC flooring from the Rock ranges is generally the most suitable solution for areas subject to heavy use.
All materials exposed to natural light for long periods may undergo slight colour changes over time. Aeterno flooring is designed to preserve its aesthetic appeal over time, but in the presence of large glazed areas, it is recommended to use curtains, blinds or sun protection systems to limit direct and prolonged exposure.

LAYING AND INSTALLATION

The Pure and Nature ranges already incorporate a natural cork mattress, while the Rock ranges incorporate a high-density IXPE underlay. In these cases, there is no need to add any further underlays. This solution simplifies the installation, reduced installation time and ensures consistent and controlled performance over time. The Urban and Fix laminates, on the other hand, require a separate underlay, available also among the Aeterno range of accessories.
A vapour barrier is always recommended when its presence in the screed is uncertain or when there is a risk of rising damp. A suitable polyethylene film provides simple yet very important protection to ensure the durability of the floor over time. Aeterno provides a specific vapour barrier to complete the installation correctly.
The thickness of Aeterno SPC flooring is the result of a deliberate design choice. The extra half-millimetre compared to many products on the market is concentrated mainly in the interlocking area, which is the most delicate and heavily stressed part of the floor. This helps to improve the stability of the installation and the overall durability of the system.
Yes. Aeterno flooring is designed to simplify installation thanks to the modern interlocking systems used across the different collections. To achieve the best result, it is important to refer to the Aeterno Technical Manual carefully, following the guidelines regarding the substrate, flatness, expansion joints and the vapour barrier. The installation is simple, but requires precision and care. For this reason, Aeterno nevertheless recommends using qualified installers, especially for more complex projects.
The flatness of the substrate is one of the most important factors for a successful installation. Unevenness and irregularities may compromise the stability of the joints and reduce the durability of the floor. Before installation it is therefore necessary to carefully inspect the substrate and, if necessary, correct any imperfections. According to the UNI 11515-1 standard, the substrate must meet specific flatness requirements to ensure a correct and long-lasting installation.
During installation, it is necessary to leave a perimeter joint generally between 8 and 10 millimetres wide, along all the walls. This gap allows the floor to withstand the normal dimensional changes, thereby preventing undesired stress.
Expansion joints are necessary between different rooms and where there are particularly large areas. Generally, it is advisable to provide for them when the length exceeds approximately 10 linear metres or the surface is close to 100 m².
Yes, provided that the existing floor is stable, dry and sufficiently flat. It is also important to check the width and depth of the grout lines: if they are particularly noticeable, it may be advisable to use a grout filler or levelling product, to achieve a uniform surface.
In many cases, yes, provided that the existing parquet is stable, firmly secured to the substrate and free from significant warping. It is always advisable to have a professional perform a preliminary inspection.
Yes. Thanks to its low thickness and the floating installation, Aeterno flooring represents a particularly suitable solution for many renovation projects. In many cases, it can be directly installed on top of suitably prepared existing floors, avoiding invasive demolition work and reducing the time, costs and disruption associated with the works.
It depends on the thickness of the existing floor and that of the new floor. In many refurbishment projects there is no need for significant changes, but it is always advisable to check in advance for doors, French windows and other elements that might interfere with the installation.
Yes. In many cases, installation can also be carried out in rooms that are already furnished, by organising the work in sections and gradually moving the furniture out of the way. Whether this is feasible depends on the nature of the project and the amount of existing furniture.
The installation time depends on the surface and complexity of the environment. Under normal conditions, the installation of a floating floor is generally quicker than many other traditional solutions and makes it possible to significantly reduce the time taken to complete the work.
One of the advantages of floating installation is that the floor is immediately ready for use. Under normal conditions, the floor can be used immediately once the work is complete, without any waiting time required for glues or adhesives to dry.
Yes. Aeterno flooring is compatible with the main underfloor heating systems. It is important to follow the installation instructions and maintain appropriate superficial temperatures to ensure performance and durability over time.

ACOUSTICS AND COMFORT

Yes. Thanks to the integrated underlays made from natural cork or high-density IXPE, Aeterno floors help to reduce impact noise and minimise reverberation within rooms, thereby improving living comfort.
Yes. As well as helping to reduce impact noise and reverberation within rooms, the natural cork incorporated into the Pure and Nature ranges is a choice that is consistent with the philosophy of the product, which focuses on the use of natural materials and domestic well-being.

MAINTENANCE

Daily cleaning can be carried out with a slightly damp cloth and mild cleaning products. It is important to avoid using too much water and to use suitable products in order to preserve the appearance and the performance of the floor over time.
No. The use of steam systems is not recommended because the heat and moisture can damage surfaces and joints over time.
Yes, provided it is used correctly and without leaving stagnating water on the surface. It is always recommended to follow the instructions from the manufacturer of the robot and use compatible cleaning products.
It is best to avoid particularly harsh products, solvents, bleach, ammonia or non-specific cleaning products that might damage the surfaces or leave undesired residues.
To preserve the floor over time, it is advisable to use felt pads under chairs and furniture, avoid dragging items, and use soft castors on office chairs.
In the event of accidental leaking, it is advisable to quickly mop up the water and dry the surface thoroughly. Prompt action helps to protect the floor and prevent any issues.

RANGES AND DESIGNS

The Rock Pro, Rock Lite and Rock Spina ranges share the majority of the same designs, allowing for the free combination of traditional and herringbone installation, whilst maintaining the same aesthetic throughout the room. What changes is the plank size and the installation patterns, whilst the colours and wood grain patterns are coordinated. The Rock Tile range, designed to replicate a stone effect, features designs created especially for this format.
This continuity between the different ranges offers greater design freedom and allows for the use of the most suitable solution for any space without compromising on aesthetic consistency.
Yes. Aeterno offers a complete range of matching accessories to create seamless designs with attention to every detail. In addition to flooring, there are skirting boards, transition profiles, expansion joints, thresholds and special profiles for steps and staircases, all designed to complement the patterns of the various collections.
Even in the event of herringbone installation, it is possible to maintain visual continuity by using matching profiles from other Rock ranges with the same design.
